How will the Technique help me?

What happens in my lesson?
Your teacher will use gentle hands-on guidance and verbal explanations to help you find ease and balance within yourself in simple movements and everyday activities - such as sitting, standing, walking, bending etc. Part of the lesson may include you lying down in the classic Alexander Technique semi-supine position – allowing maximum support and relief for the back.
What should I wear in my lesson?
Ordinary, comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement.
How many lessons will I need?
A recent independent survey has shown that a short course of 6 lessons can bring some considerable improvement for back-pain sufferers. However, realistically to change habits of a lifetime, will require longer. Your teacher will advice you when you have your first lesson.
What is the duration of a lesson?
Your first (introductory) lesson will last about an hour. Following lessons will be 40 - 45 mins.
How many students will attend?
Lessons in the Alexander Technique are taught on an individual one to one basis.
